 Post Second World War, warranted the country's rebuilding effort. And there necessitated a boom in the construction industry and so in combining the efforts in improving the construction trade, the Johor Master Builders Association was initiated.
Due to the chaotic period in our country, the proposal to form the association was halted.
It was not until pre Independence of Malaya, a meeting was held on July 1954. And then followed by a second and third meeting which was held on 28th July and 5th August 1954 respectively. These meeting were conducted by the late Mr. Tan Hock Yong and the late Mr. Lee Beng Kim.
Johor Master Builders Association (JMBA) was officially registered on the 12th November, 1954 with the approval of The Registrar of Society.
JMBA was established with a Secretarial office located at 31B, Jalan Wong Ah Fook, Johor Bahru. The Opening Ceremony was conducted by The Chief of Public Works Department, Johor.
